Hey corpsepile, I don't know if anyone's said this yet (haven't checked the full thread yet), but I feel like there might be something more than what we've seen.
Is there anything to exploring the world longer before warping? In other words, NOT pressing Tab to change cameras? Because if I ever get the game for myself, I'm definitely gonna be trying to explore that broken looking realm.
I'd like to be able to play older versions on mobile officially (not with the well made mobile fake), just to see what they were like, and to use that "slow down when having no stamina" effect. In my opinion, that shouldn't have been removed, it makes things a little unnecessarily easier. Watching your stamina carefully and using it down to the tiniest last bit while making sure not to go too far was part of the fun, and part of what kept you on your toes. Then there's the "oh s@#%" moment when you slow down and you have to stop for a full second to recharge your normal speed.
Mystman! I found something, not sure if it's a glitch or an actual strategy, but here goes.
It is possible to use Baldi's incredible hearing to trick him into moving in the wrong direction. With blue doors, I can simply open them, then move away from them in the opposite direction of Baldi. Baldi will move in the direction of the door and then move around randomly. Similarly, with yellow doors, I can fool Baldi by going through them, then backing out of them and running another way. Baldi, hearing which direction the doors opened in, will follow the sound through the doors in the same direction I went through, and he will keep going rather than backtracking after me.
Is this an intended strategy, or an error in Baldi's tracking that isn't supposed to happen?
The apkpure website has a fake mobile version that mostly works fine. There are other fakes too, which are viruses asking you to download extra data, but this one seems to be all right. On the site it calls itself "Baldi's Basics In Education". When playing, there is no endless mode, bluetooth controllers won't work, and there's minor glitching, but it seems fine otherwise. There's also occasional ads. If the small controls you mentioned are an inconvenience, and you don't mind playing with this version's onscreen touch controls, try this one.

Maybe you have an outdated phone. If you try the fake mobile version from apkpure, you might have better luck. I've been recommending it to the people here who can't play the real mobile version for some reason.
Remember there are virus versions of this game, which ask you to download extra data after you open the app, so avoid them! And I suppose there's even risks with this fake one I'm recommending too, so it's your own risk, but I've been fine with it so far. It only shows an occasional ad, but otherwise behaves like the correct game. Heck, even the black void ceiling in the cafeteria is a real ceiling now XD
Disadvantages: ads, of course, but not very often. You can't play with bluetooth controllers, they don't work very well. Also, Endless mode doesn't exist in this fake port. There's also some minor glitching in the game, but nothing game breaking or preventing your progress.
You could try using the "fake" mobile version. There's a lot of fakes out there, and some are viruses (the ones telling you to download extra game data, specifically), and I suppose there's a risk with any of these so be careful. But the one you find on the apkpure website, called "Baldi's Basics In Education", with the icon appearing like a painted version of the real thing, actually works on mobile. It's not some crazy knockoff with zero functionality or a different game in disguise, it's actually the real Baldi's Basics ported to Android from PC (it still thinks it's PC, just listen to how Baldi talks). It has a few minor glitches and basically behaves like a "pre-release" or beta mobile version, but it's mostly functional (although Endless mode doesn't work on it, and you can't use bluetooth controllers to play), only the onscreen controls.
There's an occasional ad while playing, and remember that there's a risk of viruses from any fake game, though I've been fine so far. Plus, I don't think someone who went to all the trouble to port the PC version to mobile and do such a good job would have had malicious intent. Just my opinion.
Try at own risk!
Also, one question for you: I see that a long time ago, you removed the feature where the game makes you slow down to a crawl if you run out of stamina, and to regain normal speed, you have to let the bar fill up a notch first by stopping in your tracks.
Do you ever plan on making different modes, like easy/hard? I kind of thought that slowdown was actually a neat "challenge" feature, and I was surprised when you removed it. It might have made the game a bit too hard, I guess that's why you removed it, but I sure wouldn't complain if it ever found its way back in, even if just by a "toggle" switch in the menu.
I have a SLIGHT solution for you...but at your own risk!
Many months ago, there was a version of Baldi's Basics created for mobile, but it's sort of a "fake" mobile port. It works well, but it was never official. You can find it on the apkpure website, and it's called "Baldi's Basics in Education". I tried it, and it works. There's some minor glitches and differences (and Baldi talks as if he thinks you're playing on a PC, too), but it was good enough to fool me, and it really seems kind of like a "beta" android version.
Remember, there's always the risk of viruses from fake versions of this game, although this one, to me, seems safe enough. It has ads inside the game, but other than that, everything's fine. Any fake game that tells you to go online and download extra data is a virus trying to steal your information! This particular game doesn't do that, so it seems all right. Just remember the risk.
Remember, the website is apkpure, the name is Baldi's Basics in Education, and the icon looks like the regular game, but "smoother" as if it's been re-created into a drawing. Controls seem all right (it doesn't work well with bluetooth controllers though), and the onscreen controls are purple icons, like purple letter keys and a purple motion dragging joystick (like the blue one in the real mobile version).
If it's wrong of me to post info about an unofficial version of this game, forgive me guys! Just trying to help some fellow Here School mates find their way into the game! Just let me know and I'll delete this post if necessary.
Love this game! On my GPD XD Plus Android handheld attached by HDMI to my TV, and a bluetooth controller, (Android type shaped like a PSX controller, red/black, for anyone else who wants to try the combo) it really feels like I'm playing some kind of PlayStation game! Everything you did with the Android release is fantastic.
One thing I wanted to note is something I found in the game, very minor. I don't know if it's either a malfunction, or a feature, or just something not thought of. It turns out, if I hold the reverse button (hold R3 to look behind me), I can do this to face a notebook that's behind me while the Player is still pointed toward the door, and begin the You Can Think Pad simulator. This method gives me an extra second to start escaping as soon as I finish the problems, because I don't have to waste time turning back around to leave the classroom, I'm already facing the door.
If this is a bug you didn't intend, well, now ya know! Works out well for me, though, it's certainly not a complaint :)
